How to Do Well In the Examination

To make a good result in the examination means good performance in the examination obtaining high marks. Only a few days labour cannot bring a good result. First, a student must understand the topics thoroughly. Next he must make notes and revise them again and again. In answering a question he should take care that his answer must be to the point. Elaborate answers should be avoided. He should budget his time for each question. He must make his answer legible. The examiner feels boring to look over the same topics again and again. Finally, a student’s hard labour, constant effort, merit, etc may bring him a glorious result in the examination.

A letter to your friend describing plane journey

November 23, 2013

Chadmari Road

Gopalgonj

Dear Arif,

I hope, you are well by the grace of Almighty Allah. The day before yesterday I received your letter. You wanted to know describing my plane journey. Recently, I underwent a journey by plane from Dhaka to Chittagong. It was my first journey by plane. Having summer vacation I got an opportunity to meet my elder brother living in Chittagong. He sent me an air ticket. However, on the scheduled day I went to the airport an hour earlier and after all the formalities being completed I was given a boarding card. Then I got into the plane. The captain announced that he would soon be starting. After a pause, the plane started taxiing. Then slowly it began to race down the runway and after a while with a jerk, it took off. I looked down from my window and saw buildings, people and trees looking like miniatures. The roads and streets seemed to be snake. The rivers, canals also seemed to be so. However, within the very shortest time I along with other passengers reached our destination safe and sound. No more today.

Yours ever,
Masud.

Dear Arif,

I am very shocked to hear that your brother is no more on earth. I could never think that he would leave us at such a premature age. I do not know how to console you in such a situation. Your grief is so great that words will fail to console you. The loss of a brother is irrecoverable. I know how sad it is to lose a brother because I have also lost mine. I pray to the almighty that he might give you strength to bear the loss. I also pray heartily that his soul may rest in peace.

Yours ever,
Masud.

A letter to your friend for describing your experience about train journey

November 12, 2013
Chittagong, Bangladesh

Dear Arif,

My heartiest love to you, I hope that you are quite well by the grace of Almighty. Now I will give you a description of a journey by train that I made in the last autumn vacation from Mymensingh to Dhaka. I reached the passengers. After sometime hearing a whistle, the passengers stood in a queue before the ticket counter. I also stood in the line and bought a second-class ticket. The right time the train came and the guard whistled and waved his flag. Everybody tried to get into the train first. After much difficulty, I went into a second-class compartment. The compartment was full to its capacity. The train left the station. I looked our side and found the beauty of nature. The train was running through green paddy fields. There were jute and sugarcane plants here and there. The compartment presented a good scene. Some of the hawkers came up to us with their goods for sale. The train reached at the Chittagong station. It was one of the most memorable days in my life.

With love and best wishes,
Yours ever,

A letter to your pen friend about your country

November 12, 2013
Chittagong, Bangladesh

Dear Arif,
I am glad to receive your letter. I have learnt much from your letter about your country Japan. You have expressed your desire to know about my country, Bangladesh. Bangladesh declared independence on 26 March 1971. It became free from Pakistan on 16 December 1971 after a great liberation war. Bangladesh is a small country with a large population. It is a democratic country with many kinds of people. They follow different religions and customs. All these people are free and have equal rights. Some people of these basic rights are the right to food, health, shelter, and education. It is not easy for everyone to have these basic rights, because they are expensive. Bangladesh is also a beautiful country with many resources. It is a fertile land and where rice, jute, sugar-can, tea and fruits grow in plenty. Bangladesh has rich deposit of oil, gas and coal. It can utilize these resources and become prosperous. These things can help Bangladesh to earn money and give basic rights to her peoples. No more today.
With love and best wishes.

Dear Arif,

I hope that you are well by the grace of Almighty Allah. I have received your letter today. You have wanted to know about a street accident. My hand is trembling to write a street accident, which took place in the last month. I was going along the station road. A truck was coming with a full speed. At that time, a little boy was crossing the same road. Probably he was unmindful about the speed of the truck. The driver tried his best to control the truck. But he could not do it. The truck ran over the body of the boy. The boy died on the sot. The road became red with blood. It was a terrible sight. The truck ran away rapidly. We returned our homes with a sad psyche. Be careful in crossing the road.

Story: The Old Farmer and his Lazy Sons

Once there was an old farmer who was very hard working throughout his life. He had a rich field which gave him a fine yield of grapes every year. Unluckily his sons were very lazy and easy-going. So, the farmer was much worried about their future. One day the farmer called his sons and said, "Dear sons! My days are numbered. Before my death I want to tell you about the hidden treasure in our field. Dig it out after my death". The farmer died after a few days. After performing the last rites of their father, the sons began to dig their field. They dug every inch of it but they could not found anything. So the sons sowed some seeds in their field. A few weeks later, there was good rain. Soon the field was filled with rich crop of grapes as had never been there before even in their father's life-time. Now the lazy sons understood what their father meant as the hidden treasure. From that day, they worked hard and earned their own livelihood. They had learnt that hard-work is the key to a gold mine.

Story: The Wise Farmer and his Lazy Sons

A hard-working and generous farmer lived with his three lazy, greedy sons. He was elderly, and just before he died, he called them to him and told them that their inheritance was buried in his fields, and that they would have to dig it up in order to receive it. No sooner than his spirit left him than his sons went out and tore apart the fields looking for the buried treasure. Having dug up the entire farm and found nothing, however, they began to wonder if it was a trick, and if their father, in his generosity, had already given all his money away to the poor. One of the sons said, “Well, we’ve already dug the fields, we might as well sow a crop to take advantage of it.” His brothers agreed, and they planted wheat in the fields, took in a good harvest, and sold it for a large sum.

After the harvest, the sons wondered if they might have just missed the treasure when digging for it, so they dug up the fields once again just in case; having found no treasure, they once again planted a crop and sold it. This continued for a few years, until the sons had at last become accustomed to the labor and realized the lesson that their father had left them with on their deathbed. They became honest and content, and lived their lives in peace.
